Acanthochelys macrocephala (Rhodin, Mittermeier & Mc Morris, 1984) Pantanal Swamp Turtle The largest of all Acanthochelys species does live in the upper Rio Mamoré basin of central Bolivia to the Pantanal region of the upper Paraguai of Brazil. Size for adult femalse may reach up to 24 cm (app.10inch). Typical habitats are lagoons and ponds. It has a marbeled coloration of the head and round tuberkeles on the neck. | ||||||||
