Chelodina reimanni
(Philippen & Grossmann, 1990)
Reimann's Snake-Necked Turtle

Chelodina reimanni is predominantly known from single locations around Meraukee in the southeastern part of Irian Jaya. Probably the distribution also extends into adjacent southern Papua New Guinea. Chelodina reimanni seems to belongs to the Chelodina novaeguinea complex and may turn out to be only a subspecies: Chelodina noveaguineae 'reimanni'. Further investigation need to be done.

Chelodina reimanni typically has broader and more massive heads and this feature may have developed over many years by speciallising on molluskar diet.
Chelodina reimanni seems to prefer marshes and areas of shallow water, but not many details are known about this species.
