Argentine Snake-Necked Turtle
 
The Argentine snake-necked turtle is distributed in eastern Southamerika. The most western distribution is found as isolated populations in vicinitis southwest of Codoba and northwest of Santiago de Estero. The main distribution is along the Rio Uruguay through southeastern Paraquay in the Rio Parana to the Rio Grande and vicinity of Belo Horizontein southern Brasil.
It is found east to the Atlantic coast and south trough all of Uruguay to the vicinity of Chascomus in Argentinia.

Mating often takes place in January after the water tempereature has droped to about 17 degrees C. This may be induced by water change.
